Death has given me certainty, life has given me oppurtunity, and love has given me hope. There is a a cassette tape labeled "Dennis Jr" which resides in a glove box in my father's truck. On this tape, is a recording of a very young me attempting to speak, and sing as my father plays guitar, every so often being directly on key (not bad for the age of two :p) When we are at such a young age, we are like a blank canvas. A portrait is only drawn once we go through life's ups and downs. I have aquired all my personality traits through various things. The struggles i've gone through, the people i've hung out with, the music I listen to, the movies i've seen, the food i've tasted, the lectures i've sat through, and the tears i've shed. I can only embrace life and change and accept the obstacles which come with them. We often become caught up in our feelings and emotions. They can gather inside, and keep building until it's almost unbearable. The worst way to handle this is not telling ayone what's going on. The idea of expression, if it's through music, dance, writing, etc, is the best way to share your feelings. This journal serves that very purpose, I hope to make people think and at the same time let go of my worries, for we each have but one life to live.
